Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson says he is more liberal than the Democrats and more conservative than the Republicans and he’s ready to take on all comers. He wants to end the wars, repeal the Patriot Act, cut the deficit, and end crony capitalism, but first, he spoke with Due Diligence’s Carmen Russell Sluchansky at the DNC.

Gary Johnson is the Libertarian Party nominee for president. A former Republican, he served as governor of New Mexico, but changed his party to run as a Libertarian after the Republican primary. In a race that may come to within a few percentage points between President Obama and Mitt Romney, Johnson may be a spoiler, effectively helping the Democrats by siphoning off Republican votes. However, Johnson argues voters should vote their conscience and he’s not worried about the politics between two parties that are mostly the same.
