Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta announced on Thursday the dissolution of a ban on women serving in combat positions, garnering positive reactions from women’s groups and even experts on military preparedness.

Despite the victory, the overturn has revealed concerns about relaxing physical requirements and other potential challenges in implementing the new policy.
