Very Big Water Guns
China and Japan have been fighting over five islets in the East China Sea. China claims that they discovered, named and used the islands first and, therefore, they are part of the Chinese homeland. Japan however, claimed they found the islands unused making them up-for-grabs, so the islands are theirs. As if it wasn’t bad enough for these two world giants who have been enemies for as long as one can remember, Taiwan now is throwing their hat in the mix. President Ma Ying-Jeou has deployed a fleet of fishing vessels to surround the island and attempt to outmaneuver the Japanese Coast Guard and their water cannon.

Gold Diggers
Ghana has detained 90 Chinese citizens for allegedly mining gold illegally. One of those detained has died with no explanation offered as to why. The Chinese foreign ministry expressed concern over the death but acknowledged that the Chinese citizens are subject to the law of Ghana.
Abuse of Power, Corruption and Sex

Bo Xilai, the famous high-flying Chinese Communist Politician, finds himself enemy number one of the same government that he was once an aspiring leader of. He’s being tried for abuse of power, corruption and having sex with many women as well as being a leading figure in the cover up of the murder of British businessman Neil Heywood, who his wife Gu Kailai was convicted of killing. The fact that the Chinese leadership is changing this year and wants this international fiasco behind them, puts Bo in a very tough spot. Many are calling for the death penalty.
