It’s time for the partners in crime to shine. Vice President Joe Biden will take on Republican Paul Ryan in the first vice presidential debate on the election campaign on Thursday night.

The two square off in Kentucky eight days after GOP White House hopeful Mitt Romney took down President Barack Obama in the first of three presidential debates and in what critics called a campaign game-changer.

Biden and Ryan, meanwhile, have one night and one night only to fight on behalf of their leaders’ foreign policy platforms. Critics have said a lot is riding on this one particular debate because Democrats said Obama was too soft on Romney, which gave Romney a boost in the polls, and Ryan could bring a bigger boost for the Republican party.

Capitol Affairs Report took on the vice presidential debate and has the entire preview.

In part 1, host Carmen Russell-Sluchansky previewed the vice presidential debate with JR Ross, editor of wispolitics.com, and Doug Guetzloe, host of the Guetzloe Report, and examined Romney’s rise in the polls.

In part 2, Russell-Sluchansky analyzed the lives of Biden and Ryan with Jules Witcover, author of “Joe Biden: a Life of Trial and Redemption,” and John McAdams, a political science professor at Marquette University.
