Ariz. Councilman Under Fire For Gun Buyback Program, Leaves GOP

On the second anniversary of the shooting that injured Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, a Tucson, Ariz., city councilman held a gun buyback event and now he’s coming under fire.

Councilman Steve Kozachik, who is a gun owner, said that he’s received threats for his program and the controversy got so bad that he changed his party registration to Democrat last week, saying Republicans in his state are not rational when it comes to firearm regulations.

Host Carmen Russell-Sluchansky spoke with Kozachik to discuss the program and its impact—both positive and negative.
